Testimonial
“I really like living here in Ireland, I’ve been here for 4 years. I am originally from Slovakia. Dublin is a great city and there is lots to do. I have made many friends here. I’m really glad I moved here. I have a job in the travel industry but wanted to learn more. I study the Travel Agency Practice course. It is a really good course and I am learning a lot, because my tutor is really nice. I know it will help me get employment in the industry when I finish.“

Studying in a new country can be both an exiting and scary experience. At Portobello Institute we will try to make your time here as enjoyable as possible.

Induction Day and See Dublin!

In October, at the start of our full time courses, we have an Induction day for all our International students. The induction will involve talks on life in the college and will also provide an opportunity to meet college lecturers and staff.

Throughout the year we also run outings and activities for our students. Previous outings have included trips to Powerscourt Estate and Dublin Harbour. We have also organised cricket matches, treasure hunts, quizzes and Christmas parties.

There is an extremely friendly atmosphere in the college and tutors are always on hand to help. The door to the International office is always open.

International Student Liaison Officer

The international Student Liaison Officer is available to students on a daily basis to assist students with administrative requirements, course queries and any other difficulties students may be experiencing.

What makes us Different (and Friendly)!

Portobello Institute offers courses to suit each individuals needs and unlike other colleges Portobello’s course takes place over two days in the week. This leaves students plenty of time to study and pursue other interests. It is worth noting that international students on a visa are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours a week.

The most important thing to remember is, at the end of your time here you will receive a qualification from an international recognised awarding body. This award will be recognised in your own country and will open you up to multiple job opportunities.

We look forward to seeing you at Portobello Institute in the near future and are delighted to help put you on the road to success.
