“Hi, my name is Karen and I work as a Travel Consultant in Rathfarnham. I started working with Justsplit.com while I was studying a travel and Tourism course with Portobello Institute.

I applied for my current position while still studying my Travel and Tourism course in May 2006 I had worked in various administration jobs since I left Institute, none of them very challenging. I took two year out to travel the world in 2004. It was then when I cam home that I decided I wanted to work in an area that I had a real love of and that was travelling. After looking at a few different nighttime courses I chose Portobello Institute, mainly because of the subjects that where taught on the course and for the recognized qualification with ICM that I received at the end of my year.

I am now beginning to specialize in the Long Haul travel, which is always the direction that I wanted to go in. I look forward to learning more and travelling to long haul countries that I haven’t been to. This will make me more confidant that the information I relay back to customers is correct, I believe if the customer trusts that you are advising them correctly, then you will have no problem in turning that enquiry into a sale. But then, you will always get that one customer who will ask you the strangest question!
